Coming of Age Writing Salon

Writing Your Becoming: A Coming-of-Age Autobiography Workshop

Everyone has a story about growing up—even if it’s still unfolding. In this class, you’ll dive deep into the pivotal experiences that shape who you are: awkward first crushes, family secrets, heartbreaks, dreams, disasters, and the moments when everything seemed to change overnight. We’ll read short memoirs and essays that explore what it meant to come of age in your place and family setting. Through prompts, discussion, and supportive topics, you’ll find your voice and learn how to capture the messiness and magic of growing up on the page. Whether your story is dramatic or quiet, funny or bittersweet, this writing salon will give you the space and tools to write it honestly—and compellingly. No prior writing experience needed. Just bring a willingness to look back, dig deep, and write forward.

2 Weeks. Feb. 7 and 21. ($50)

Spring Fling Writing Salon

Spring Fling: Writing Autobiography Through New Beginnings

Spring is the season of flirtation, fresh starts, and wild possibilities. In this workshop, you’ll use personal storytelling to revisit the times when your life bloomed—perhaps brief romances that upended your world, sudden friendships, spontaneous adventures, and the moments when hope or desire made everything feel a little lighter. We’ll read short memoirs and essays that capture the sweetness (and chaos) of springtime awakenings, then turn to your experiences. Expect playful prompts, lively discussions, and a supportive environment that helps you find the bright spots in your own story. No writing background required—just bring curiosity and a sense of possibility.

2 weeks. April 11 and 25 ($50)
